Liam Presswood, back board on the DWD rail at Bull Mountain
It was a foggy Thursday morning when the crew began making moves to reunite at Bull Mountain in Kelowna. From Victoria, Revelstoke and Kelowna we trekked for a fun day of playing in the snow with friends.

We were about 10 minutes outside of Kelowna when everyones phone began to ring simultaneously. It was Jess calling the group chat. “Guys… I’ve got bad news. The gates locked” with dogs barking in the background of the phone call, our hearts sank. We had come so far for it to be closed! “Wait, I see someone coming *click* " Jess hung up the phone and we waited.
Almost a decade ago, the owner had dropped his car keys in the snow during a storm with heavy snowfall. In an unlikely turn of events, she found the keys! He recognized her and let our crew in to ride for the day. (With a donation, of course)

Liam and Ellena, hiking back to the top
Back to my roots. Hiking rails. The last few years, riding powder and tracking lots of vertical feet, I nearly forgot the pure joy that only hiking rails all day with friends can provide. The definition of snowboarding is expressed, when limited to a few features, the creativity comes out.

Bull Mountain was previously known as Crystal Mountain. In 2014, a cable failure caused some chairs to fall leading to injuries and ultimately the resorts closure. Lifts have not been operational in over 10 years.

The sun came out to say “hi” before disappearing behind the peaks. We hiked up to the sunshine and cooked tacos on the hillside, before boarding down after sunset with full bellies and all of our supplies.
